The Last Book Store Los Angeles Engagement Session / Kristen + Dru

I love when my clients have a special place in mind where they want to shoot their engagement. The Last Book Store was very special and we had such a great time shooting at this iconic library with used and new book. Kristen’s red dress is ravishing and they are just a joy to work with.

Words from the bride:

Dru and I met through a shared passion for video games. At the time, I had wanted to try jumping into the video game industry. After taking off a couple of days of work and volunteering for about eight hours at an event called Indiecade, a fellow volunteer waved over his friend who was working at the exact company I wanted to work for and introduced him. I was really excited since it seemed like a great opportunity to make some connections, and the guy, Dru, mentioned going to a bar later where a lot of people from the same company would be hanging out. Wanting the chance to meet people, I agreed. After hanging out that night (and exchanging numbers via business cards), we spent the rest of the long weekend opting to hang out with each other instead of our friends over the long weekend at the event. Once Indiecade was over, I knew that I didn’t want to let our connection go to waste (and not just because I was trying to network!).

Shooting at The Last Bookstore was special to us because it was the first time we met up after the event to venture out for hours over our shared love of books in addition to our love of games. We found out we had so much in common and really bonded over all of our shared interests. A couple of months later, he finally officially asked me out! It’s been five years since then, we’re engaged to be married, and we still have huge soft spots for both Indiecade and The Last Bookstore. I did eventually end up getting that job in the game industry (on my own though because Dru insisted helping would be a ‘conflict of interest.’ Ha!), and we’ve been so happy together ever since. I’m looking forward to spending the rest of my life together with Dru, the love of my life and the best adventure buddy I could ever ask for!
