holiday shoot preparation
Can you believe Fall is already here. Now is the best time to take holiday photos.
This is my favorite time of year. It's full of crisp weather and beautiful families enjoying the holiday season.
Are you ready for your Family Photoshoot? Here’s a checklist you can go through:
Please be punctual:
Make sure to leave with more than enough time to arrive on time. It’s okay to be early!
Eat:
Don’t starve yourself! Make sure to eat before hand to avoid any sort of hangriness. Bring snacks for the little ones.
Props:
Bring things that your family can enjoy as a whole. Examples would be: books, games, a basketball. Also bring some sort of blanket that can be spread out on the ground. I encourage you to get crafty, creative and original. Look on Pinteres and Etsy and 100 layer cake for inspiration.
What to wear:
Don’t be too matchy matchy. Safe bets would be complimentary colors or something that pops! If you have any questions, just ask! Or you can check out my Pinterest board for more inspiration. Accessories like scarves or hats are always welcome!
Pets
I am an animal and dog lover. I have a 120 lb gold retriever. Feel free to bring your pets.
Kids:
When are they in the best mood? Don’t schedule too close to any nap times or meal times.
If you would like to book a session, please contact me here.
Moms:
If you are wearing heels, make sure to bring a pair of flip flops too! Getting your make up done is always a plus.
Purpose for the photos:
Plan on what you want to do with the photos. Do you just want to post them on Facebook? Do you want to display them in your family home? If the latter is the case, make sure you measure where you would like to hang them. I can work with you after the shoot to display your photos nicely.
When:
During the Summer and Spring, best times to shoot are before 10 and after 6. Then in the Winter, anytime after 2. If we shoot at the beach, it has to be later during sunset time.
Have Fun!
My shoots aren't rushed. Have fun and stay relaxed. Kids can feel your stress.
