️Words from the bride
What we really wanted the most from our wedding was to enjoy it with our friends and family. Keeping it casual and hoping everyone gets to have a good time. Most of our friends are now on opposite ends of California so it was also a chance for our friends to gather after years aparts and celebrate our marriage. It was so overwhelming and surreal to have friends and family we care about so much all in one place!
We're really happy with our choice in venue. It had the character and aesthetic that was in line with what we wanted (vs the traditional Chinese wedding banquet). The location itself offered a chance for us to do everything outdoors. We thought there were multiple areas throughout the venue where we could get great photos. Although the venue didn't offer a pre-package deal of vendors, it was nice to hand pick all our vendors. Our outdoor venue did, however, leave us at the mercy of the weather... which was a bit hot and humid with a little rain--- but we made it work!
If the bride and groom have time, this venue is a true blank slate for a wedding with beautiful backdrops for photos. James made the amazing cornhole games and vinyl decals from scratch. Each jenga piece (made from cut 3x4s) had a wood burned word that represented something we felt was important in marriage. It was important for us to make and use items in our wedding that we could potentially reuse, repurpose, or could decorate our home together as a keepsake from our wedding day.
Future Brides-- It's hard to do makeup touch ups during the wedding, make sure you love your makeup before the day starts. I loved my makeup but wish I kept more lip glosses on-hand for touch ups.
